Hera Again - July 06

This is the third time I have dived this wreck in the last couple of months but I never get tired of it. I took an additional macro lense down with me to try out, I hadn’t used it much and felt this was a good time. Unfortunately the visibility on the Hera was pretty awful, in fact the worst I have known it. The current was running a bit on the surface and I was trying to clip my camera on and struggled to get to the shot, once down however things were much easier. Unfortunately all the plumose anenomes were shut except for one or two which was also a shame as I was hoping to get some good macro shots of the insides.
They still look amazing when closed and I always want to reach out and touch the wrinkly skins as they lie in folded up lumps on the wreckage. They look totally different without their delicate apricot and white plumes wafting in the current, instead you see the darker shades of apricot and stark white of their thick stumpy columns.

I managed to find again the patch of bright green jewel anemones……most of which were closed of course! ……but didn’t have a lot of success with the macro lense on these or anything else. However it was still a good dive there is always so much to look at.
